Starch is a carbohydrate naturally found in many grains and vegetables, such as wheat, maize and potatoes, rice, peas, pulses, manioc, sweet potatoes, and bananas etc.

Starch is the main source of energy for the human body and most of us consume the food containing starch (grains and vegetables) on a daily basis because we need carbohydrates to function.
